Last week when the weather was warm I took a day trip to the beach with my dear friend Jen (yes her name is Jen too). We decided to bring our reading material and camp out on Capitola beach. Capitola is one of my favorite beach towns, with cute shops restaurants and houses. I had to take pictures that day of course, and the colorful houses were perfect and vibrant against the blue sky. I could not help but think this color palate would make for a great outfit. Based on the colors I saw on the houses I created a cute beach outfit that I would love to have! That day was a great reminder that inspiration is everywhere even at the beach!
I have been interviewing a lot recently for jobs and I have been trying to mix up my career outfit options. I am combining my tops and accessories with office basics. I try to keep it colorful and unique since the field I am in is more creative. I thought I would share one of my interview outfits with you all and I will be sure to post more soon!
Easter is just four days away and if you are going to church, brunch or a bbq show up in style with the perfect outfit for the occasion. I put together a couple of oufit ideas for a dressed up event, semi dressed up occasion, or a casual party. I hope this gives you some ideas, inspiration and in the mood for Spring!
I recently received an email about a new website called Storemate. I have been discovering what it is all about and I have found that it is similar to Pinterest, but for shoppers, bloggers and stylists. The website is still in beta so there are things that are changing and developing. So far I am liking what I am seeing, you can curate your own stores from things you find online, on blogs, or on Pinterest. It is a great way to build a new following, you can even store your outfit posts so people can shop your look from your blog. There are so many possibilities for exposure and not to mention it is fun! To see how it works you can check out my store front here, and see my collection for spring. Try it out for yourself at Storemate.com and to see more about how it works check out the video I posted below.
I love GILES & BROTHER jewelry not only because it is my last name, but because of the classic, fresh, yet simplistic design of their pieces. The only thing stopping me from buying all of the GILES & BROTHER accessories is the price point, which is out of my budget with prices ranging from $50 – $300. Needless to say when I heard about the JewelMint collaboration with GILES & BROTHER I was ecstatic. The same style accessories but at the JewelMint price point ($29.99!!), it can’t get much better than that! Below are some of my favorite pieces from the collaboration, hurry before they are gone!
I recently got a new DSLR camera for Valentine’s Day (from my amazing boyfriend). I have been so obsessed with taking pictures of everything and anything. Needless to say we have been spending our weekends driving around different places searching for great shots, and living in the Bay Area there are so many great places it is never boring. I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures I took from the past couple weeks. None of these are edited, just straight off my camera, so if you are looking into getting into photography for fun and want some great pictures I would definitely recommend a Nikon D3100. Now that I have such a great camera I will be posting more pictures and some out fit posts! Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy!
Everyone has beauty items that they could never live without and I thought I would share mine! As you can see I love anything Bobbi Brown and I am pretty loyal to all of her makeup. My favorite Bobbi Brown products are the creme foundation, it is so natural looking and has great coverage. I also could not live without the smokey eye palette and party mascara both make your eyes pop!
Parisfashion week is my favorite fashion week by far. Mostly because I have a love affair with Paris but also because some of the greatest fashion houses in the world are in Paris, including the one and only Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld has been the designer of Chanel since before I was born, but if there is one thing that I love most about his design, it is his attention to detail. The recent collection for Fall 2013 RTW was a great example of his attention to details through the perfectly curated textiles, jewelry and accessories. When I saw the boots draped with chains, globe shaped bags and the fingerless spiked gloves I became giddy! Karl is a genius, with that said here are some of my favorite detail shots from this past week in Paris, hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Continue reading →
One of my favorite hobbies besides fashion and blogging, is looking for antiques and repurposing items that I find. Similar to the hi-lo of dressing I apply this to decorating as well. The desk in the picture above was my mother’s from the 80’s and it was given to me. I painted it and added new knobs (not shown) and it was instantly updated! Check out some other hi-lo ideas in my room. Continue reading →
With Winter soon coming to a close, the cold weather might have taken its toll on your face. Here are some of my favorite Spring beauty items. This Nars eye and cheeks palate is a great combo. Refresh your makeup collection and get this pallet for the best of both worlds. Straightening and styling your hair all winter is very damaging. Time to rock the natural beach waves for less stress on your hair with Victoria’s Secret beach hair spray. Spring showers may leave your eyeliner running make sure to avoid this with Paul & Joe waterproof eyeliner. A good body scrub and moisturizer are important to lose the dead skin and moisturize your new layer. Add spring colors into the mix with a fun nail color or lip color. Remember Spring is the time to refresh and renew!
